What are the rules of a knights tour puzzle?
A knights tour puzzle is one in which you must work out the route a knight takes as it traverses a chessboard.
A knight has a distinctive way of moving, and is unique in being able to jump over other pieces, making chess a three dimensional game!
A knight can move two squares horizontally or vertically followed by one the other way (e.g. vertically if it just moved horizontally), or one square horizontally or vertically followed by two squares the other way.
The rules are that you must work out the route of the knight around the board based on the way it can move, as described above.
Typically in a knights tour you will be given some of the squares along the route the knight took around the board. You must then work out the order of the jumps around the board.
There is one solution with these puzzles that can be reached through logic alone.
