What is isosudoku?
Isosudoku is the name of a type of puzzle that has familiar sudoku rules, and some new ones to boot.
Usually displayed on a hexagonal grid, each number must be placed uniquely in each row and column (or slanting diagonal depending on the presentation of the grid).
In addition there are the equivalent of the usual 3x3 boxes, so thus far there are the familiar three regions from normal sudoku.
However the key additional rule is that there are extra partial regions that run diagonally across the grid, and these must contain a set of unique digits. However many of these have less than all nine digits in - in fact there is only the one major diagonal that has all 9 which is the equivalent of one of the 'X' regions in sudoku X.
